SMALL BUSINESS FINANCING

Small business is the main driver of our Canadian economy. Small businesses create jobs and they create wealth. Yet when asked, most individuals considering small business ownership identify financing as the main stumbling block.

We can help you get your business dreams off the ground. Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been in business a while and are looking to expand or renovate, call us. We’d be happy to speak with you about the financing you require.

Here’s what you need to know about our financing program:

  • your business must be in our region

  • the maximum loan we can write is $150,000.00 per business
  • we’re just as happy to meet a first time entrepreneur as we are a seasoned veteran
  • our minimum lending rate is 10%
  • the majority of loans we write are set for repayment over a fixed number of years (commonly called a term loan)
  • a part time or seasonal business is as important to us as a full time business
  • we don’t need to write 100% of the deal. Many times our loan is part of a financing package written jointly with banks and credit unions or other financing agencies such as Women Entrepreneurs, local Small Business Loans Association’s, Farm Credit Canada, Business Development Bank of Canada, or Sask. Métis Economic Development Corporation.
  • We can finance:
    • Building construction, expansion or renovation
    • Purchase of commercial land
    • Working capital
    • Equipment purchases
    • Inventory
    • Start up costs
    • Purchase of an existing business
    • Operating capital to secure sales through a tender or bidding process.
    • Good will.

In the marketplace we are generally known as a “developmental” lender. That means when we discuss your financing requirements our due diligence focuses first on you, your skills, your plans for business success and then on down payment and collateral. In some circles that kind of consideration is called “character lending”. We call it good business.
