Taking Care of Business
Scholarship Program

The Taking Care of Business Scholarship Program is one of the ways we "give something back to our community".  We believe that it is important to share good fortune with our community.  In sharing our good fortune we've chosen to make an investment in our youth.

It is our most sincere pleasure to offer this scholarship program to two deserving students each year.  We believe post secondary education is critical to the future success of our youth and ultimately to the success of the Community Futures Sagehill Region.

Applications are available at:
  • Each high school in the Community Futures Sagehill Region
  • The offices of members of the Sagehill Community Futures Development Corporation
  • The Sagehill Community Futures Devlopment Corporation office.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for a scholarship the applicant must:
  • Be a resident of the Community Futures Sagehill Region at the time of application
  • Be enrolled or about to enroll in full time studies (minimum 8 months) at a post secondary education institute in Saskatchewan.  Full time will be as it is defined by the educational facility the student is planning to attend.
  • Have achieved a minimum 75% average in thier most recent education standing.
Each applicant must attach to thier completed application form:
  • Official high school transcrip as released by Saskatchewan Learning and interim Grade 12 marks.
  • Three letters of reference form individuals, none of whom may be relatives and/or members of the Sagehill Community Futures Development Corporation Board or Staff.
  • A letter, hand written and signed by the student, which includes information on your background, current and future interests, extracurricular activities, reasons for choosing the proposed course of study, volunteer work and paid work experience.
LOSS OF ELIGIBILITY
Recipients who do not remain as full time students or who do not maintain a satisfactory academic level through the period covered by the scholarship will become ineligible.

CRITERIA
Selection criteria will include:
  • An education and career focus.
  • Academic standing
  • Demonstrated commitments to balancing education, family responsibilities, work and/or involvement in the community.
  • Financial need.
PROCEDURE
All applicants will be reviewed by the Board of Directors of the Sagehill Community Futures Development Corporation.  The Board will make the final awards. All decisions of the Board are final and are not subject to appeal.

PUBLICITY
The availability of scholarships will be announced to the universities, other post secondary institutes, high schools, Sagehill members and the general public by the Sagehill Community Futures Development Corporation.  Recipients agree to be profiled in publicity releases.

NOTE:
The Taking Care of Business Scholarship may be held concurrently with other financial awards.

For Universities - entrance scholarship with a value of $500.00 each
For Technical Institutes - entrance scholarships with a value of $500.00
