Self Employment Program

The Self Employment Program is designed to help individuals with a business idea and a desire to be self employed; to create a job for themselves.

Did you know that the Training component of the Program will assist you to:
  • Assess your suitability for self employment;
  • Research the market and write a Marketing Plan;
  • Write a business plan;
  • Manage financing and bookkeeping;
  • Secure start up loans; and,
  • Start up and operate your business.
To determine if you are eligible to participate in the Self Employment Program simply answer the following questions:

  Yes No
1. I am Employment Insurance or Social Assistance Eligible
2. I am unemployed
3. I am legally entitled to work in Canada and a resident of Saskatchewan
4. I have a potentially viable business idea
5. I am prepared for some personal and financial risk by investing time, equipment and money into the business
6. I want to start a new business or take over an existing business in which I had no prior ownership
7. I will agree to work full time on my business
8. I do not currently own or operate a business
9. I am a resident of the Sagehill region and wish to start a business in this region
10. I am not currently a resident of the Sagehill region but intend to relocate to open my business in this region
